I changed the oil filter/cooler a couple of weeks ago & that took me all day but I did give the EGR valves a clean while I was at it. At that point I realised nothing was ever going to be simple. On a positive note at least its only cost of parts & I do enjoy doing stuff myself. I will have a look on Autodata in the morning & see what time it states then double it Worse things happen at sea! The 2007 alternators do seem particularly poor - not sure what happened that year, but a lot have failed.

Wife got fed up of me mooching around the house & banned me to the garage so thought I would have a quick look see. The battery was flat so put it on charge, then started her no faults showing but only charging at 12.8 then dropping to 12.4 with the lights on so guess I will be ordering an alternator in the morning but its a RR so I will soon be happy again Worse things happen at sea! Wondering whether or not to purchase gen or aftermarket, a couple of companies on line have vastly differing prices but they dont looked water cooled. Any advice on where to go ? Worse things happen at sea! Well thats what swmbo said when WRENS came to sea!!! |
