Possibly battery fault

Driving home tonight with headlights, rear & front wipers,de-mist & heated front & rear seats on as well as the kids were watching tv in the back it lost its suspension followed by gearbox then active headlights, abs & a load more. I decided not to turn it off as I was close to home anyway tv shut down so we then shut down what we could. Anyhow all seem to correct itself apart from gearbox which was in 5th I would guess & direction lighting. However back up the driveway switched off & back on & all good. Not done any tests as it was hammering down but guessing battery or Alternater spike. has anyone else experienced this? Mike Worse things happen at sea! I changed the oil filter/cooler a couple of weeks ago & that took me all day but I did give the EGR valves a clean while I was at it. At that point I realised nothing was ever going to be simple. On a positive note at least its only cost of parts & I do enjoy doing stuff myself. I will have a look on Autodata in the morning & see what time it states then double it Very Happy Worse things happen at sea! Well thats what swmbo said when WRENS came to sea!!!

The 2007 alternators do seem particularly poor - not sure what happened that year, but a lot have failed.

Mine gave up at home - killed the battery as well - seemed OK, but an hour later when my wife went out to the car it was completely dead.

Cost me £530 - the rad needs to come out to fit an alternator to a TDV8 Shocked

Wife got fed up of me mooching around the house & banned me to the garage so thought I would have a quick look see. The battery was flat so put it on charge, then started her no faults showing but only charging at 12.8 then dropping to 12.4 with the lights on so guess I will be ordering an alternator in the morning Sad but its a RR so I will soon be happy again Rolling with laughter Worse things happen at sea! Wondering whether or not to purchase gen or aftermarket, a couple of companies on line have vastly differing prices but they dont looked water cooled. Any advice on where to go ? Worse things happen at sea! Well thats what swmbo said when WRENS came to sea!!!

I think denso are the oem....

There are steps on rave on how to get it out, but peeps reckon there is a less involved way which is tight but do-able which doesnt involve removing either rad or turbos. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
