United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

Bushy speaking from experience i wouldnt do it. Definitely not the door handles and pillars, the roof you might get away with. You will not be able to colour match.
I had an m3 which i wrapped gloss white with carbon black roof. It looked absolutely fantastic at first (I used Raccoon) but before long i had to go back to have door handles redone and also wing mirrors due to peeling. On close inspection little blisters started to appear elsewhere on the car over time, edges started to peel and the vinyl on the roof shrank a little over time around the edges too. I got about 18 months out of it before it started to look tatty around the edges. I sold it wrapped as had heard horror stories about paint being pulled off. Many dealers wouldnt touch it due to it being wrapped so i lost a few quid there as well.
The colour you have is lovely and for what you will see of the roof i wouldnt bother Thumbs Up L405 4.4 SDV8 Santorini/Black VSE

Thanks for your advice M3mjw,

This is really still at the planning phase. So I really appreciate people's opinions from experience. I have never had anything wrapped before, so I must admit I don't know if all that glitters is gold.

I know it certainly isn't when it comes to gold wrapped Range Rovers Laughing

I love my colour, I'm just curious what could be done to modernise it a little. Half of me is torn to keep it original, but the other half says be brave. Bushy

Heard a few horror story's of people removing the wrap to find the car covered in small rust patches due to condensation between the vinyl and the paintwork.... Someone on the Audi TT forum had this problem I believe! I'd buy a set of handle covers and get them colour coded and perhaps the mirror covers too, your car looks great as is Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White

I think there is also a problem with cuts in the paint surface caused when the wrap is trimmed at fitting stage. These also corrode when the wrap is removed.

I'm with Craig. Somehow covering a FF with sticky back plastic just sounds a bit Blue Peter to me. 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11

Ah Craig don't temp me, if I hadn't just bought a new house.. It's completely eaten up all my surplus cash. Unless I can pay for a facelift via washing up and mowing the lawn Laughing

I totally agree that Facelift is the best way but at ......... (Insert ££££ here) i don't know when I'll be able to do this without SWMBO cutting a part of me off that I've become rather attached to.

That blue one looks fantastic. Sad Bushy

Iridescent wrap
Nice blue and purple

Thers a 'Lambo' owner doon here who changes his wrap every 12 months or so to confuse the Polis and the neebours think he has new car every new reg period.

I wrapped mine in springtime in matt carbon fibre.
Wasnae too happy with it as it didnt 'shine' so I re-wrapped in in gloss carbon.
(I off road in the car so a respray was out of the question) Made in Scotland frae 'Girders'

Hi Bofa Bill

I've been researching more and, I'm starting to hear more and more horror stories (mostly on removal) from wrapping.
The main problem comes from the fact you only need very little experience to start wrapping cars. It's more diddly then difficult. So a lot of people are wrapping cars with hardly any practice on customers cars. Hence the stanly blade cuts and poor fitted sections of wrap etc.
I've been put off the idea for now...

I'll just have to keep saving and see Craig lol. Yawn Bushy

Aye Bushy like every trade ther are the ones who do it properly and the 'others'
Removal is easy but alas thers always a catch.
Wrapping is dependant on temprature for both application and removal.
If ye choose someone with a good history the wrap will apply and remove no probs.

If yer based near to Yeovil then I can point yer in the reet direction Made in Scotland frae 'Girders'

The problem we keep seeing is when fitting they need to cut every edge of every panel... I almost defy anyone to go around a car wrapping it without making a couple of slip ups with the cutting... I think there is usually upwards of 20 cuts per panel and each one they try to cut through the vinyl only aplying only enough force when cutting the vinyl to not mark the paint underneath... Shocked
