Happens to me all the time. The fuel back pressure caused by the fuel filler pipe in the car is always causing fuel nozzles to cut out on me. I find I have to carefully regulate the fuel flow to get the tank full. A real pain but there doesn't seem to be a solution. 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11 |

Turning the nozzle up side down does work but I think there is also a TSB to fix this issue, it has been mentioned in a previous thread but I think it was a complex fix involving removal of the tank. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I have the same problem with mine. Turning the nozzle upside down does work. I also bung the filler cap in the handle to keep it on so I can stand around watching instead of holding the nozzle. It still cuts out automatically when full.

Thanks for all the replies and Ian for the links to the other threads. I have always pumped the fuel at about half speed as it always cuts off after a couple of seconds at full speed. Even so it usually fills the tank up full so I just wondered why it wouldn't fill completely on those two occasions. I'm reluctant to pump any slower in case it doesn't cut off at all and the tank overflows (had that happen once before, suddenly felt I had wet feet... )

Pump nozzle at 12 o clock works best for me. Still cuts off when full. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
