Slept on it, considered the views of others and... The original existing (very nice) SC wheels are staying... And so, perhaps it's best to leave 2 & 3 (vents and mirror covers) as is too.

That just leaves the head and foglights which I'm keen to tastefully modify by way of a tasteful freshen up.

Re the headlights a la Daveo and Googsy modifications, not sure I really get the difference between Halo 'upgrade' and the later 2010MY lights as in the differences between both types of lighting?

Its all a matter of personnel taste of course. But I have done all 4 to mine and am more than happy with the results.

I did not get my fogs modified though, I just went with the existing headlamps having halo led rings fitted to both dipped and high beam units within the headlamp itself. Personally I think it looks a lot better and brighter than the 2010 attempt were for some reason Land Rover used the dimmest and fewest amount of leds they could find. With this modification the rings appear as a solid ring of light as the leds are so closely packed.

Also as you have adaptive headlamps like me, if you were to go the 2010 upgrade route you would loose the adaptive headlights. Again not sure how this would affect you but personally on the dark twisty roads that I do alot of driving on I really would not want to loose this feature.

If you go for the 2010+MY year light upgrade, you will lose the adaptive lighting function, as this can't be synced with the CANBUS.
If you go for the halo effect around the original lights, you get the DRL's you require, without compromising the adaptive lighting.
Down to personal choice at the end of the day.

Oh a couple of other points I should mention. My main reason for adding the halo rings was more to do with safety than cosmetics, although I must admit they do look nice in my opinion.

But I had noticed for a while that when looking to pull out at junctions etc it was much easier to see oncoming vehicles that had reasonably bright DRL's running. And with this in mind thought it very beneficial to hopefully avoid or reduce the potential of drivers pulling out in front of me through not looking properly. Yes I could just leave my headlights on all the time but isnt that why all newer designed vehicles have DRL's now? For safety?

Funny thing is with the 2010 led fitment to the headlights I can hardly notice them, so feel there less for safety and more for style. Again just my opinion.

I also notice is the rear indicators on pre 2010 cars are much harder to notice than the 2010 versions. This is especially noticeable when breaking and indicating at the same time. So for instance if your turning right on a fast a road for example it can be difficult for following vehicles that are not paying attention to see your indicating to turn right where as with the later LED based rear lights it is so much clearer and the break lights do not reduce the visibility of your indicators. I have not updated my rear lights as yet but this is one of the main reasons I would update them, as personally I do not like the cosmetic look of the newer 2010 LED lights but can fully appreciate the safety benefits.

Hi Bellini, I bought my halo kit from forum member Jr-auto-electrics for £90. They were not cheap but the quality seems very good. They are much brighter than I imagined. I have seen cheaper sets on eBay etc but wanted the peace of mind of buying a tried and tested kit etc.

Due to being bone idle and fear of wrecking something I got my halo's fitted by Cam-Tech-Craig, and even he was surprised at how bright they were. From all accounts the fitting is something that can be undertaken by the DIY'er.
