cd changer in glove box exchange

Right do I try and remove the cd changer and get it tested or can I put a new unit in aftermarket.
Can I use the car with the cd changer removed

Best unit to fit and who has don't it how long will it take to get the cd changer out I really want to go with a plug and play change

Mine is broken also. You can unplug it easy at the back, if you send it to clarion they just straight exchange it for £220-£230. When i unplugged mine it just shows the landrover logo. But supposedly if you drive for a while it should come on without it plugged in.
In the end i just bought a decent fm transmitter. use my iphone with it. Forgot it has a changer. Or just buy another off ebay when they come up now and again.

If you unplug it you will break the "daisy chain" fibre optic and no other infotainment will work... Have you tried a battery reset?

right a bit of insight into what happening with it then.
i have removed fuses and checked them they are ok.
most of the time it wont find the cd changer when i select it on the screen.
now and then it will say no disc but not often.
the cd cassette will not eject most times but now and again it will take it in and eject it but will not play any discs.

any help as to resetting the battery would help
do i need any codes for my sat nav unit if so would these be in the handbook and wallet with the service history.

Sounds exactly same as my problem. Says no disk. If you hold eject while unplugging the back and plugging back in. Sometimes it ejects. But looks like fleabay, clarion or fm transmitter.

My post when i asked

Well just thought i would try and look at it, removed the CD Changer and dropped it off at the audio shop he says it needs a service and says it will be about and hr so lets see if it works when i get it back.
Mind you have to remove enough to get them out. Rolling Eyes but if it works when i put it back in worth doing.

Sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Well went to collect the changer no charge oh two small parts were stuck inside he said a small steel pin and a plastic part with a hole in that the pin went into. He said he could not see where it was from strange when i took it out and shook it there were no bits rattling about in the unit.

Well looks like i need a changer Part No. XQE500201 its from a touch screen sat nave displat with the fiber optic connection.

Best go post an add in wanted Evil or Very Mad
