If you've got the BMW MK IV sat nav and custom maps ensure you"ve got speed camera alerts selected on

Had exactly the same thing happen in an X5 - resolved it by turning the speed camera alerts back on. Got to be worth a try

Good news - you'll just have to put up with the annoying camera alerts. Very Happy

??? What are you doing to get it in English? I think I have camera alerts set to on, but I can't find it on the menu now. Where is it?

I just changed it the speed camera setting to "on" and the dash display changed to English. I changed the camera back to off and it changed back to French. Not sure why but it works

Well, how bizarre. Mine works in the opposite way. When I turn camera alerts off I get English.

Actually, that's best for me - don't really want camera alerts.

By the way, I tried removing the nav system and that does give you the language option of the OBC.

But when you plug the nav in again you get French.

So the definitive answer on setting the OBC language is to turn camera alerts on.

Or off.

I've done some research and found the actual code that sets the value: -

Quote:
SetCameraAlert(bool value){
if (owner == Kurt){
if (value == true){
Language == French
}
else{
Language == English
}
}
else{
if (value == true){
Language == English
}
else{
Language == French
}
}
CameraAlert = value;
}
