info display inop 2003 ffrr v8 vogue

Hi, not sure of the technical term for it, but the info stalk, button on end of indicator stalk, does nothing, my understanding is that it should, when pressed, display trip info under the milage, I know the panel is ok as it will display, lights on, key in ignition etc, and another strange thing its does is display the time every hour at 59mins to, ie 1159, 1259 etc etc, all trip functions work on the central display, but nothing on dash, have followed instructions in handbook but no joy, can live without it if its more than just swapping the stalk over, or does it have to be switched on with a diagnostics tool, any advice welcome
cheers hammie

Have you got the timer/counter running?

See if you can turn that off on the main screen

The 59min display is a BMW thing and can be set to let you know it's 1 minute to the hour, so you can stop listening to a cd for eg and put the radio on so you don't miss the news headlines. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Not sure what you mean by the timer/counter running joe, had a quick look this morning, and the timer for the heater??? was set to on, on both times, but both times were the same, ie 1045 for both, I set them to off, but then a red light came on by the rh knob on the unit???, so have set them both back to on, not sure what the red light was for, with the 59mins to thing, is that something that has to be turned off by a dealer???
