Hi Ive had this problem for ages to the extent ive fitted a quick release live terminal on the battery.
This could be aload of crap! but i was told that the suspention is always active to self level when parked so you get into the vehicle on an incline or a hill it will be as level as it can be ?????. Ecu controlled.
Please please let me know if you find out what is the cause cheers

Interesting that so many owners have resorted to various solutions to overcome the battery draining issue. Whilst I too carry a power pack with me all the time, it is still inexcusable that we should have resort to these measures on a vehicle of this supposed quality.

I shall continue with my quest to resolve the problem and the alternator test is first on the list today! Cheers

I have been through 3 Batteries,fitted a new FSA, had it at a Range Rover specialist who is almost certain its a cooling fan in the air con. If its left for more then 4 days then starting is via jump leads or power pack,both of which are always in the back.

I have loved my Range,and love driving it,but i know our time together will end soon,as the thought of another winters cold starting fills me with dread.

I feel exactly the same way as you piersie. If I cannot find the source of this battery problem, the FF is definitely going before winter sets in. I certainly don't want the wife getting stranded in it late one night (she'll be using it for work).

I've lived with the FF for a year now and had so many problems with it, most, if not all, I have managed to address. But this one has been going on for 8 months and it might just prove to be a challenge too far. Cheers

hi This may sound stupid but I have had a problem with the battery drain ,leave it for a couple of days and its dead!!
but after a lot of research on the net I found out that WiFi or PIR will keep activating the computers, IE waking them up then she goes back to sleep only to woken up again.
so instead of parking in my drive , like any normal car I have to leave the rangie up the lane where it will work fine.might be worth a try

That's interesting, does the Red led next to the P position on the gear selector light up each time the car "wakes up" when the Wifi affects it?

Well, good news is I seem to have sorted my battery drain problem! Stan suggested checking the obd port and it was open. I closed it, charged up the battery and it has been trouble-free ever since!  Cheers

I know that many people have their own theories but does anyone know the exact, definitive list of circuits that are live when the OBD PORT cover is left open? 2006 4.2 SC

Pls dont count your chickens. Just closing the port will not resolve your problems. mine has behaved all week, last night was a tad windy so all night it will have been trying to level itself every now and then,resulting in an undercharged battery this morning.

I will miss it when its gone, but not too much.

I don't think you could blame your air suspension checking itself every 6 hours over-night and correcting the level to the lowest measured level for your battery to drain over-night.
The only thing that switches on is the air suspension ECU and possibly momentary action of one or more valves.
You obviously have a battery drain problem for what-ever reason but I doubt the air suspension is it.
