Has anyone here had any experience of retro-removing the DPF from a 3.6 or 4.4 TDV8 spec'd with it originally? Is it easily done and require any other modifications or changes to software?

Removing the filter is the easy part, having the ECU sorted out is more difficult |

Thanks both - I'll raise with Cam-Tech Craig in the first instance otherwise look for a tuner. Reason I'm thinking of doing this is the quality of diesel is much lower in Kenya and the car will also be used mainly for short, urban journeys with very few long distance runs, so worried this will cause me issues in a place where LR is not very well represented for servicing. thanks kp. if this mod is done, i'd expect it to be a permanent one as there's no MOT in Kenya to worry about.

As long as it isn't driven gently all the time it should be fine as it should have a cleaner exhaust tract but could lead to more soot build in the exhaust tract if driven gently all the time as with the dpf it would enriches the fuel to get the exhaust very hot and burn it all off. A good blast on a hot engine every once in a while should do the trick FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
