IPOD / Iphone.... again.....

as i have recently become and "expert" in taking the dash off etc and getting to the back of the satnav / radio unit i was wondering if i was right in thinking that there is a mod that can be done where an input lead goes straight into the back of the this unit and can be stored in the glovebox with an ipod attached? Confused

andy

Do you have RSE with the Aux inputs in the rear?

If so, there is a simple solution that gets you an ipod in the cubby box permenently connected....

Pop out the rear centre consol air vents, unscrew the Aux input panel, solder a couple of wires to the circuit board behind the aux 3.5mm jack socket, drill a hole in the centre cubby box, run the wires through and solder to a 3.5mm input socket, fix input socket to the floor of cubby box (I glued mine because I forgot to thread the nut onto the wires before soldering it all togather - doh!), test it works, then put it all back together!

You will need a cut-down 3.5mm male connector to push into the Aux panel 3.5mm input socket (so the Aux flap can be closed)

The Aux panel socket is a 5 way design, a circuit is not formed without a male connector in the socket (it doesnt need to be connected to anything, the singal is coming from your new 3.5mm input socket via the wires on the back of the circuit board)

All you need then is a USB cigarette lighter adaptor and an ipod charger/line out cable and you are done! 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Yes there is a unit which fits behind the dash and gives ipod connectivity and control via steering wheel.

See this thread, though we never got enough people for a multibuy. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

if its the m.o.s.t system they have to be made by land rover and are over £400, I ended up paying £20 and getting a decent fm transmitter

I know this isn't the answer but its the best I could get without spending £400+

just looked at the old thread and dan said £357 if there was 5 of us buying...... but none of us ever took him up on it.....do we know how we fit it though? is it just a case of putting the lead into the back?

transmitter no good for me as to much interference.....

I think it plugs into the cd changer cable. And then lets you reconnect the changer

Fitting the ipod kit is a bit of a faf, ends off the dash, top off then it seems to be plug and play. From memory, having read the instructions somewhere, it involves unplugging the cd changer Plugging the unit into the back of the head unit and then connecting the changer to the unit itself.

Not too tricky by the look of it but not dead simples either. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If it's based on the dension 500 type adaptor it plugs into the cd changer input and emulates the cd changer. They are a very good unit though and usually allow full ipod connection. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

From what I remember of previous threads the Land Rover ACM is based on the Dension unit as it is made by them but a Dension 500 unit will not work with the FullFats MOST system . 2008 MY Supercharged

guys will the denison gateway fit non touch screens? has anyone got one that can confirm?

I have seen these on the bay and the listing states for RR but when i email the seller to make sure he replies "sorry not for your car"

I have a Dice T5 from my bmw 5 series which i just spliced into the bmw cd changer loom and that worked fine with steering wheel controls etc. i still have the dice and loom in the garage and have been meaning to get to the back of the cd changer and try and splice this in to the speaker wires, power and ibus wires. but if a proper conversion came along i would prefer this.

any clarity on the above will clear up my confusion. will post link to ebay item so people can see.
