In my diagnostic screens when doing the 753 hack (as per the updated Wiki today) I see I have a "Companion Camera" and it says this is Fitted. I presume this is a Venture Cam, but the SC doesn't have one.

So what is it?

Does it just mean the car is configured to have one rather than it is actually present?

i reckon its the venture cam ...probably old LR firmware being used in the new hard drive setup ... or is an option on yours. ... - .- -.

not sure if this is a companion camera, but check in front of your rear view mirror from the outside looking back from the bonnet, its in the mirror housing. Some RR's have a camera fitted here to record any bad driving / accident data. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

It's VentureCam, just another Video In I suppose.

When I select it I just get a black screen.  Discovery 4 HSE

Presumably because you're not feeding it any video, assuming it's enabled.

Companion Camera is definitely the Venture Cam.

And there I was hoping it was a 'cleavage cam'  2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Is the space in the upper glovebox still there, where the holder (charger) would be fitted?
That would establish if it is an option on the later models.

Bringing up a very old thread..... I have just done the very same 753 hack and found the very same thing.

I have no venture cam holder or venture cam.
Did anyone ever find anything more out?
