Ok, question for you. Given aircraft are heavily automated, and most accidents are caused by pilot error, why are there still pilots - only statistically they're much more dangerous than lithium iron batteries?

I can't get into a debate on a forum, and there are interesting arguments to be made on both sides. But a question for you: if you could fly LHR-JFK in a pilotless airliner for 95% of the cost of a piloted airliner, which one would you choose?

I'd have to get into a debate with someone knowledgeable, like yourself, before I made a decision.

Needless to say, I'd happily pay the extra 5% if it meant more certainty of arriving!

I hate flying and watching that programme doesn't help

Me - just 50, RR's since 86 [only classic & L322], still have '95 classic in storage.

35 going on 16. I'm the Technical mangler for an Italian Microwave Radio manufacturer supplying most operators/DNOs/Local & Central Govt etc etc.

Got my supercharged just over 4 years ago. Wobbled recently but couldn't see a viable alternative! First car I've ever had for anywhere near this long.

Resolved to do the suspension and and little niggles on it and keep it until I can get a 5.0!
