Thats quite a wood pile there! You have a log horse as well or buy it already split?

I'd be happy with a projector but the fan noise irks me enough with units i've worked on in the past so about 5-6yrs ago i got a nice 46" Samsung LCD, CCFL backlit mind so does get warm after a god few hours of viewing but no fans or noise an solid as a rock for that time with one occasional niggle of turning itself back on rarely looking for a software update!

Next one is going to be something like one of these as they have their own wall anyway Smile

Never a fan of 3D kit mind and the glasses would end up in a drawer somewhere for their life Smile

Like the burners as well David Smile Is that proper slate on the sides and top as well?? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

It's not slate. Not sure what stone it is but it's nothing that special. I had a plinth cut for me when I put the wood floor in of a similar stone but I can't remember what stone it is.

I agree on the projector noise. This new one is meant to be 19 db which is the quietest I've seen. The old one was something like 28 I think, so I'll see what it's like when installed.

Well, got it home. Had to put up some special bracket to make it fit - still temporary until I cut some plaster board and paint it up.

Hooked up the HDMI cable, switched computer on, no picture.

Computer recognised it but nothing showing.

Then I took the HDMI cables it came with and plugged them in and it worked fine. Now I have to route then through the ducting in the wall - ar$e. Why can't all HDMI cables be the same?

Anyway, picture is way better, but it's not quite set up correctly yet. Will have a play at getting it set up later.

It's very quiet. So quiet that it's now no longer an issue, because I can't really hear it.

It is very large which is a bit of a shame, even though it's mounted on the ceiling.

All in all, well chuffed.

No curtains.

The supermodels just lick it off each others faces.

I really like those ones. I was tempted to get one but at the end of the day I thought it just didn't suit where I wanted to put it. I know they can kick out an awful lot of heat and are very efficient.

I have also recently taken the projector bug. They seemed to make sense when you think a 40" TV cost the same as a 250" projector.

I have a BenQ W1070, simply one of the best decisions ever! I stuck it in my den which is now my home cinema, full HD+3D 200+ inch screen AKA my wall painted with special projector paint. Full surround sound and its connected to my PC, Sky and PS3.

Nothing quite like watching the F1 on it, or the latest movies. Projector was £650, sound system was around £500 the extra sofa needed to fit into the den took some convincing to SWMBO but finally got it last month. Amazing.

Every man needs one of these in their life... Very Happy Bushy

My house doesn't accomodate a room or wall with a projector, but I can squeeze in a 50" plasma and have got a great surround system, watching films is brilliant.

I have a projector for work and it's REALLY bright Cool but I've never hooked it up to see how a film would look, the problem is getting decent sound out of the laptop as it only has a 3.5mm out.

My work projector is a Dell BTW. Discovery 4 HSE

I play all my stuff through a laptop, but it goes from the laptop to a proper amp via HDMI and then HDMI to the projector. I then get great sound.

A friend of mine, who works in a primary school, was "given" 2 projectors that were being replaced. They have regular parties outside and use the projector to show music videos on their neighbours house wall. It's not brilliant quality but good enough when you have had a few!! Previously..

Modern HDMI amps are great for this kind of thing as they will strip the sound off and still send a cracking picture through Smile

I love the idea of a wood burner with stone around it asit will kick out heat for even long after the fire has gone and gives a nice ledge for the hotties to leave their kini's on to dry out while drying themselves off in front of it as well Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
