My sat nav disc wasn't working and had circular scuffs on it as though its been running against something for a long time.

Yes, T-Cut or similar on CDs and DVDs is the age old remedy for removing scratches and marks. Because there is a film layer above the "burning"/data layer (especially on pressed discs) you would have to rub pretty hard to damage the data layer.

Graygates plastic polish available on Ebay. Fantastic stuff - used it in the RAF for cleaning and polishing aircraft screens (canopy etc) - would say nothing beats it Saved me a fortune on CD's , DVD's and Xbox games |
