L322 ZF Box

Where do you guys reckon is a good place to have my box checked out rather than just a straight TC replacement? Id rather it was repaired where it needed repairing. I live nera Salisbury but will travel to the right place! Present box has been hesitating on changing gears and had a bit of a grind today on doing so when put back into drive from neutral whilst still moving.

Have you tried to clean and lubricate the gear lever assembly underneath the car yet ?? They corrode a bit over time and that causes problems with the gear selection. Not sure if this is linked to it but it is a cheap way of checking. Wipe/brush clean it, liberally spray with WD40 or similar and then cover in white grease.

Has your gearbox ever had oil and filter changed ? Doing that can let you check the oilpan for metal fragments.

I suggest to do a search on gearbox and zf on here and you will find a lot of info.

I hope it is nothing serious !! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Thanks for the ideas! will have a look at the lever as suggested.

Gearbox was grumbling last year and so had oil replaced. Has been much better and only recently started holding the gear much longer than it should. Still grumbling a bit as well. Changes up and down normally in Manual.

Do you know whether you have the recent software in the ECU ?? I may be worth going to a dealer or Indy that can update your software to the latest version.

Considering that it works fine in manual that could point to the cable/linkage or software. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
