06 MY Vogue Upgrade Audio - Member's success stories ?

OK - I know this has been the subject of much debate in the past, but what I'm asking is -

"Have you upgraded or modified your touchscreen 06MY successfully for compatibility with ipods etc"

My car, for instance is Vogue spec - so has hk audio - but NO AUX IN.

Jammer 600 has posted a similar request - but can we use this thread for "SUCCESS STORIES" ?

Remember - for cars with NO AUX IN - which is everything other than VSE or SC models ie SE / HSE / VOGUE

Hopefully somebody has done something !

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

This is by far the cheapest, less frustrating and simplest solution I found. For 8 EUR I got this FM transmitter/charger that works flawlessly, the sound quality is good, there is no hiss or interference and it also features an USB connector that can charge another device. It works with the phone’s GPS software (voice guidance through speakers). It also has an audio out jack that’s useful for non-Bluetooth cars hands free. And it has a remote that actually works with the iPhone!

You’re welcome! One more thing, the frequency you choose is remembered even when the engine is off. I chose 95.5FM for there are no stations around and I must tell you, there is no background noise at all when the iPhone music is paused, which is amazing for such an inexpensive device (The Belkin and the other FM transmitters I used before all had hiss and/or static).

Looks promising, do report back on your finding Smile

Read a review on amazon about it losing its pairing a lot of times but sound quality etc is great. If its good for rr's then i'll be having 1 of them as well Thumbs Up

Sorry I'm late to the party; been AWOL for a while, it seems like you made your decision and I wish you all the best- I've no real experience with FM transmitters (well, at least for iPod connection Wink )

I went the ACM module route as I got a really good deal from a forum member. I now have the iPhone cable in the glove box and it 'impersonates' the CD changer i.e. first 5 playlists on the iPhone are "CD's" and CD 6 is all music on the iPhone.

I'm really impressed by the integration as the steering wheel controls work and it pauses when you get a phone call.

Anyhow, just my £0.02

I hope the transmitter works out ok! Thumbs Up

^ Interesting, that is . . . is the ACM module the part available from LR for an arm and a leg ?

Nipped into Halfrauds this am to have a look at the Sonichi DAB/FM thingy. Looked quite neat, but perhaps larger than I expected ? I must say, however, this is pretty appealing to me as I listen to 6 Music for the majority of the time . . . .

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

Hi, sorry yep, that's the one. The Audio Connectivity Module; From a dealer they throw in the "pants removal" as part of the deal- you provide the vaseline.

I was lucky- occasionally you can get a deal or spot one on eBay.

Thumbs Up
