I used to think my car was Epsom but now realise its Tonga.

How different are these? I cant find a colour chart online for the L322. Basically as well as needing an upper tailgate I see there are now Epsom exterior handle covers online. Would these stick out like a sore thumb on a Tonga car??

I am not an authority on colour ( obviously ) however if you contact any dealer they can give you exact colour fron VIN number, there is a large pantone diffenence in colours and the "wrrong" green would look daft IMHO

I know what colour the car is from the VIN no. Sorry if that wasnt clear. But when you look at cars advertised as Epsom Green they look identical to my Tonga car.

In simple termsEpsom green is quite dark, bit bellow BRG in shade. Tonga is lighter mid green colour. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Tonga replaced Epsom for the 2005 model year. Epsom is darker.

I bought a second hand Tonga top tailgate (not by accident) to replace mine that had previously had a bad repair and the bodyshop said there were 3 different shades of epsom used by land rover.

Not sure handles would look right being nearly the same, would look like the painters got it wrong......

Saw this on the net.

It should be an Epsom Green car, as its an '02, but to compare the shades, I'd say the front half is more Tonga and the rear Epsom.

Think this is the closest comparison you'll get without actually parking next to an Epsom.......

Tonga and Epsom are noticeably different. I guess if the car is highly polished it might look OK but as soon as the polish wears off you would def notice a difference. There is a company online (cannot remember name etc.) That will paint up some door handles in any LR colour so you could have Tonga green handles anyway.

Having had both, you would def notice the mixed panels on the same car.

Chalk & Cheese Tonga & Epsom are im afraid...

Remind me not to accept the cheeseboard at your house Craig or maybe my eyesight is failing me as they are hardly that different!
But different enough. Will just go for the foundry ones I think
