Is it fixed down in the back of the car? I know it's too big to go anywhere else inside if the load shifts. I was just wondering if the trim in the loadspace was in for a mauling.

Thanks Mike .... the escape hatch was a bit of a nightmare because the normally extend the view panel and make that detachable but I had a think ......... and came to the conclusion that I would have to lift 40 kilos of dog over the plastic part so was back on the phone and they then suggested making the bottom section the escape hatch , which to me made so much more sense but it was the only thing I was a bit surprised about as I was expecting it to be bigger but the Boss has now seen it and seems to think it would be adequate in the case of an emergency.

I have to say tho it is really nicely made


In answer to RR2008HSE , It is a really snug fit between the arches so hopefully load shift shouldn't be an issue but will probably stuff something either side just in case

That is a good looking cage.. You'll need to post a picture with the mutts inside.
I'm thinking the tailgate is going to be quite high for a big dog to get up and in, so would it be a good idea to have some sort of cover to put on the tailgate as they get in, to stop paws scratching the edge of the tailgate? Previously..

If you look at the last picture that is a bumper protector and un clips and drops down to protect the tailgate

The one problem I have found is the doors of the cage come into contact with the body work of the car and over time time will damage the paint work round the tail lights , so was thinking sone of that pipe insolation around the parts of the cage that makes contact with the bodywork.

And have 2 ramps to choose from , one brought second hand recently that folds out into a three section ramp that the dogs can walk up with ease and where the ramp makes contact with the tailgate the rubber bumper protector will prevent any damage to the tailgate and give better grip when is use as it is plastic resting on rubber.

I have every intention of taking pics to explain how it all works

All in all had worked out really well

Thanks Stan .... Is nice when a plan comes together just the way you want it to , just need some of that pipe insolation as when the doors of the cage are fully open a small part of the cage door comes into contact with the bodywork around the tail lights and over time will chip the paintwork.
