I usually go over height - as you say, no difference in cost, just availability

Didn't need to lower it fortunately.

I've always booked the overheight carriage, and on the way back from Le Mans last week was surprised to find some of the supercars in our carriage, I guess because they can't do the approach angle on the upper deck and maybe also due to the width required for big doors.

That must have been nice for them to share a carriage with a distinguished car like the FFRR MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!! Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !! |

I always just book the normal carriage as you have more availability and lower my car when I go on the train. Sometimes they put me in the overheight, but most times I just go in the normal carriages.

I didn't think you were allowed into regular height with a trailer ? Whenever I've booked, they have always put me in over height as the doors open wider - the regular doors aren't wide enough to get a trailer around |

I'm sure I've been in the normal carriage with my car trailer, but could be wrong as I also use the tunnel when I'm not towing and it doesn't make much difference to me which carriage I'm on. |

Are the higher carriages able to take a caravan too or is there another carriage for them? |

Instead of worrying about normal height carriages and widths etc. use the Ferry! Previous cars:

Tried booking for the 28th December and returning on Saturday 4th. Could book the high carriage on the way over but the evening ones on the return trip are already sold out. Site wouldn't let me book it for one leg of the journey. Looks like I'll be rubbing my tyres on the way there and on the way back. 2016 3.0 Vogue
