Australia 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

Thanks very much Stan for your continued advice.

The ebay picture seems to suggest you would be able to 'piggy back' onto an existing fuse.
But you've said use a unused/blank one - could you please clarify for me?

ive just put the car back tohether after running the Video cable through to the front, so Im really not keen on doing that again if I have to.

Any ideas if any of the fuses in the back will suffice? L322 4.4 Vogue MY03 - Her name is Bulletproof .... you already know she's not Smile

you could piggy back onto an existing circuit or find one which is free due to maybe a item not being connected like rear heated seats for instance..

you have a choice with the rear fuses , again using a spare slot if there is one or piggy backing.

In fear of you wanting to strangle me, where would I conect the ground wire in that piggy back set up? L322 4.4 Vogue MY03 - Her name is Bulletproof .... you already know she's not Smile

ground it to any screw that goes into the body work, not 100% ideal but it works.. ... - .- -.

You could buy a gvif interface and connect the camera to it.
Its very easy to do and works when car is in reverse. Range rover td6 54 reg touch screen

I have the pre face lift touchscreen FFRR and would like the rear camera. Question

I have ordered a smb to rca lead from the link earlier in the thread, I should be ok with powering the cam via reverse light set up.
I wondered if anyone could send me a link for a camera they have used or the type I need please, there are hundreds on flebay??
Then activate on the CCF I assume my local indie dealer could do this??

Sorry guys I know this has been done to death but i spent a couple of hours looking through all the threads last night and am still a bit confused Confused

Cheers Thumbs Up

where you want to fit it depends on which type you get ...as for activating it , the only diagnostics that i know will do that is autologic, faultmate and IIDtool...i personally think that the latter is the best value for money.. ... - .- -.

You need the cam switched on in the CCF.

You will also need the front entertainment control module firmware updated.

Found a cam that will fit in place of the number plate light,
Which way did you route your camera wire to the head unit?

Got a link? I've not seen one for the FFRR that goes there. I replaced my camera with an aftermarket one in the factory position. It works great but the actual positioning isn't ideal. 2006 FFRR 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

I finally connected up my reverse camera today (checked it was working first and no problems) and then installed. When I spliced into camera wires into the reversing lights, Brown (power) and Wht with yellow stripe (Earth?) coming out of the back of the reversing lap connector, i got a "Check Reversing Lights" error when tried the ignition (and no image).

Pulled it back out and the error went away. Plugged camera into the 12V jump started and it works well.

Any ideas why id get an error splicing into the Reverse lights?
More importantly what else could I use to get power from (preferably something in the tailgate that has power all the time)?

I thought all browns on cars are the earth.
It looks like you have crossed polarity when connecting into reverse light, this will probably cause the error light.
