Pulling fuse 49

My daughters 02 vogue has a radio problem. Radio is not working, if I pull and put back fuse 49 it comes back on. However when the ignition is turned off and then back on the above procedure has to be repeated. The nav screen and computer screen work ok all the time. It's only the radio that requires re-setting. I have checked for damp in the radio module which is dry.
In addition to the above the battery went flat overnight. It is only 6 months old and don't think it's faulty. I think the two maybe linked.

Stewart.

Does the car loose DSP indication on the screen when the radio stops working?

Worth checking fuse 8 too. An alarm might go off when you pull it, so make sure you have some headroom (made me jump!)

You probably have but may also be worth just checking all the wiring to the radio in the boot too. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

I had trouble with radio off and DSP indication missing from screen.
I eventually traced it to a broken pin in one of the sockets on the Lear DSP unit.
I bye-passed the broken pin, cleaned up all the pins and plug connections on the DSP, did a battery disconnect and everything returned.
The cause of the broken pin was corrosion due to water ingress by way of faulty tailgate door seal.
It's worth removing each of the DSP plugs and checking for corrosion, could just be a case of cleaning everything up, any corrosion is usually self evident.
A further problem is if water has got into the DSP unit by way of the sockets and caused internal damage.
