Question for the Techie Guys out there

Been offered a ip5 running the new ios7 by apple , asked the guy why he had ios7 already when it has not been released yet , he said it is because he is a developer and they get use of it first ….

Anyone know if this is true or not …. Thumbs Up

TIA

True - all companies have pre-release versions that go to registered developers. They need to ensure that all their applications work prior to the official launch.

The last thing Apple would want is a whole load of apps stopping working when people load the new OS.

He will have signed something saying he won't give it to anyone else though Whistle

IOS7 is available to registered developers only but from early reports it has a few bugs in it so you might not want it just yet. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

It's also available to non-developers, if you know where to look Whistle I installed ios6 wayyyyy before its release but from what I read ios7 still has too many bugs and probably needs a few beta revisions before its stable enough to use on a daily basis so I'm waiting for beta3 Wink

Looks good though Thumbs Up

It's never a wise move to download beta code (from dubious sources, or otherwise) before it gets a good testing, on the basis that if you turn your phone into a door stop and have no support to fix it! Big Cry Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Put it in dfu mode. But im sure you can just click update software and select there latest, few years since i did it. Tell the developer to just put it onto latest os

E-mailed the guy and got this back

I have had it on my phone and have put it on 30 odd phones since it was released as a beta last week it is actually very stable and is a complete change. It is 100% legit I am a apple developer and they let me put the software on to 100 devices to test I need from you is a UDID Code there is an app on the app store called UDID That gives the code needed I then put that onto my apple developer list and then I give you the link to my skydrive with instructions on how to install …itunes will then verify the install

You dont have to be a developer to install. Just go on youtube theres loads of people showing how to do it.
What is it you would like? Are you after an ios7 phone or just an iphone? Its free and easy to do what he has done

TBH, with IOS7 it looks very much like crApple are cosying up to the enterprise market, probably in another attempt to provide a sensible alternative to Windows based machines & tablets.

If this is truly the case then absolutely bring it on. Windows-8 has brought very little except pain and torment to the enterprise, especially now M$ have announced the final demise of support for XP in April 14. If IOS7 has what is needed, such as decent printing support, the ability to browse a SMB network, properly compatible version of MS Office etc then happy days.

It remains to be seen if they get it right, but (much as it pains me to admit it) at least crApple had the good sense to avoid imposing the same interface on all devices, unlike M$ with Win-8. Despite their attempts to crowbar it all into one box M$ need to learn that I don't have a physical keyboard on a phone, and I don't have a touchscreen on my home PC.

We live in hope. I might finally be able to buy an iPhone instead of these no-signal Samsung fecks.

To be honest the most annoying thing about it for me as a Dev is that i cant use eBay or words with friends on it as they just wont launch.

If he is a developer and sells you the phone you could get screwed over if he decided to remove the UDID from his account.

if its a good price I'd buy i and just flash it back to IOS 6 if you want it Smile

One good thing is that you can set apps to auto update without any interruption to you at all Smile this will be good for a few people i know who let the app updates pile up for ages and then all of a sudden have 20+ to update in one go!

Also the new music app is very good for reminding you what other music resides on your pod or phone Smile

Is far from perfect, its not even available for the iPad yet so shows how new it is. Bu i is worrying that normally a beta is a bit more polished off when its released from apple as I'd beta'd &6 moons ago thru my iPod's Smile

MS office has been launched already for iOS so thats no problem and other things have improved and despite being a beta the battery life seems to actually be better for me!
PS i hope MS stick to their XP death this time as it causes me nothing but pain everyday they continue to support the POS! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
