Mystery wheel balance problem

I had 4 new tyres fitted to my Vogue SE TDV8, obviously as part of the fitting the wheels were balanced.
The day after I did a 80 Mile trip from home, everything was fine on the way, however as soon as I left for home there was a vibration from 30 MPH plus, to me it felt like there was a problem with the wheel balance.

So I took it back to the place I bought the tyres, it was a different set of guys working that day, they dully checked the balance, to them it looked like the previous guy hadn’t done their job properly, so they re-balanced all 4 wheels and sent me on my way, quite happy as the vibration had gone.

The next week, after a longish trip with and hour break before returning home the vibration was back at 30 MPH + on the way home, at this point I started to think it must be something different. The better half took it to the dealers as I was working, she came with the story they thought it was a new rear diff I needed, that came with a sting of £1500 just for the part.

After thinking it over I couldn’t believe that it could be the diff as it was too much of a coincidence that it occurred as I got new tyres, I started to doubt the original tyre fitter, may be their balancing machine was not working correctly.

Off to Kwik Fit, the guy there checked the balance and found 3 of the 4 wheels badly out. So again driving home with no sign of vibration, I was chuffed to bits I’d not wasted £1500.

All was fine until yesterday, 114 mile trip up to see some relatives, car as smooth as you like. Went to drive home 6 hours later, got over 30 mph, the vibration was back. Back to Kwik fit today, wheels needed balancing again, ride home as smooth as you like

Each time the balancing is done they claim no weights have been lost, the tyre have just done a 1000 miles and show no real ware. They Pirelli scorpions, 255 x 50, on 20” rims.

I’m totally confused to what it can be; do any of you guys have an idea, could it really be the diff? Doesn’t make sense to me as the fronts become unbalanced too. The car does have the standard tyre pressure monitoring option, could it be something to do with this, I have no idea how this works always assumed it was some sort of sensor in the valve.

the sensors are attached to the valve if they are moving during the journey they they may put the ballence out it
you then get re balence go on a journey balecing out again try making sure the sensors arn't moving

Does it only happen when the tyres are cold?

how bad is the vibration?

Is it felt only through the steering wheel or can you feel it in the back of your seat too? Discovery 4 HSE

a blown diff is normally accompanied by a howl or significant bearing noise, I'd also bet on the TPMS if you have it... and it being disturbed not put right when the new tyres were installed.

There is a valve in the steering rack that sometimes goes bad, it is dependent on how fast you accellerate so can seem to be completely random as to when you get the bad vibrations:
