After I don't know how many different cages I have looked at I think I have found the best option and am open to peoples point of view and opinions.

I have to say in my honest opinion and its funny that for a big car the amount of usable space it limited for my Pony's

that's a big cage... Is there an option to have like an emergency hatch at the back top (the part which will be above the rear seats) so in case of an emergency, for example someone drivers into your car, you will be able to get them out over the back seat? If not I would try to make that yourself... You will shoot yourself if something happens to them since you couldn't get them out and be very sorry. I know that's the biggest concern of my wife as well having some idiot crash into your car and the dog gets stuck. That's why we went for the retractable dogguard so I can always get him out over the back seats.

This to me will give them the full area of the back of the car which can only be a good thing and the Boss likes it to

Have to agree with the above though, Police dog vans have to have an escape hatch for if the tailgate opener fails or worse still a rear end shunt...

The top grill section pops of , showed the boss and she seems to be of the opinion that we would be able to get them out via that grill section ...... Failing that I intend to carry a heavy duty pry bar so if need be will break away the lower plastic ( they claim it is some sort of cool box material ) section and get them out that way but there is the option of an additional escape hatch but the boss seems to think it wouldn't be needed , I on the other hand am in two minds but time is against us as we go away on the 6th of July and this one is ready for dispatch and wanted to take advantage of the full height ....... This one is known as the security range but the basic cage they do is only 29 inches high.

To many different ways of looking at it but I have to say for a big car the room you have at the top is so amazingly small but I must admit after doing some measuring this really does use every available inch.


Might have to take a trip up there just to make sure it goes in without any problems and I think my concern is where the back speakers poke out , would be a disaster if I ordered it and it didn't fit

No Craig it's not , the guy that was making to measure is mucking me about to be honest ...... Says one thing and does another ..... This one comes ready made and there claim is it can keep the dogs cooler by 20 degrees and supposed to be warmer in the winter.

As said in previous post , my concern is wether it will catch the rear speakers but hey I am probably over thinking it

If you look closely at it it has two big handles for pulling it out and yet again probably over thinking it might conflict with the upper tailgate.

The only way to know for sure is a drive to Lincoln

Was in Glasgow today and heard a dog yapping looked round and there it was locked in the car in full sunshine with no windows open. Called the police and gave the details, about 45 minutes later the owner came back and looked in the window and said to her friend "Where's Lucy" before spotting her on the floor trying to keep out of the sun, then said "Thank God, I was worried there for a minute". They then got into the car and drove off just as the police van came round the corner. I stopped the cops and pointed out the car and the blue's & two's went on and they pulled the dog owner and gave her a right ear bashing

I think there should be a rule where stupid people that leave their dog in a car need to undergo the same thing but for twice as long while completely wrapped in the sleeping bag we used inside the Icehotel at minus 7. Maybe (if they survive that is) they will then realize how bad it is for a dog. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

This is a link to there site pdf and on page 9 under the heading pick ups and Kennals it shows the cage in a full fat , I think ..... am sure someone cam correct me if I have this wrong other wise its a 332 mile round trip to take the car up there to make shore it fits or if they would except it being returned if it doesn't and to be honest I really don't fancy the 332 mile round trip.
