Dropped spanner beside battery tray, where will it come out?

The battery was flat on my FFRR simply through lack of use just now. So I disconnected the battery & popped it on a trickle charge. Reconnected & started first time, however whilst tightening the battery terminal I managed to drop my spanner down the side of the battery. I heard it rattle down so far but now I cant find it. Can anyone help or advise me as to where the spaner might be found? Normally I wouldn't bother but its a good quality Snap On ratched spanner with adjustable head so I'm anxious to get it back...Please help?

Done it too... I slackened off the battery tray (battery out) enough to get my hand down and have a fish around. Got it but it was not easy...... Previously..

Front nearside wheel arch liner out. Not as bad as it sounds. Remove wheel, about half a dozen plastic 10mm nuts and a few other screws if you have mudflaps. Takes about 30 minutes.

The alternative is that it will likely fall out when you're travelling, and sod's law states it'll go through a tyre when it does.

Any chance you could tie a magnet to a piece of string and go fishing?

I have one of those aerial extending magnet that has rescued many a tool (including the owner) ! Whistle

Have done this myself! Whistle Above where the mudflap is/would be fitted you can hook out the wheelarch liner and slide your arm in and along Thumbs Up

I did the same but took the battery tray out and reached down inside as the battery was out anyway (I was changing it). Wheel arch liner gets to the same area but I couldn't be bothered fighting with it and taking the wheel off to get in there.

Its possible to remove the arch liner without taking the wheel off and fish around the fbh for it. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
