The daft thing is Gary says a FMDH is a better seller but yet surely you are better going to an independent that wants/appreciates your business rather than running the risk of the YTS monkey getting the job of an insp 2 service on your pride and joy, then not doing a percentage of it as he's un supervised because the dealership is "overworked & under staffed"

A good reliable Indy wins every time...

Like Gary states, be buy entheusiast owned cars (forum members) surely entheusiastically serviced cars must be that bit more desirable.....................

Craig Thumbs Up

As Craig says Smile

There has also been experience of people getting vehicles serviced at dealers and finding bits hasn't been done...

I service my own cars for the minor services of oil and filters and just not the mileage in the service book and keep the receipts for the stuff where I can as I half the service interval anyway on my own cars, did my dad right for many years with diesels so I stick to it Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I simply state the facts as they present themselves to me Craig.

Two identical cars I may have advertised;

1. Service Book: GUY SALMON 12000mls, GUY SALMON 25,000mls, GUY SALMON 36,000mls, GUY SALMON 48,000, GUY SALMON 61,000mls

2. Service Book: BROADFIELDS GARAGE , 12000 mls, KMOTORS 25,000mls, KMOTORS 36,000mls, AL SERVICES 49,000mls, PVH LAND ROVERS 60,000mls (All well known Indies in the trade)

Car 2. may have been better serviced but car 1. will be the easier sale and will attract more interest in my adverts.

Shame but true. Smile

Gaz is right. For residuals a dealer history is a must, but when you get near the 10k mark as long as its been serviced it shouldn't matter too much as its the condition that matters more than anything at that price and below Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
