Are these the plugs that i connect a Bluetooth ULF to?

I'm now considering the BMW Bluetooth upgrade IF my range is prewired.

I have the telephone button on the sat nav and the R/T on the steering wheel but no voice button.
The top of the cubby is just one flat space with no recess.

In the rear LHS i have these two spare plugs - whats the little spare black one for?

I'm presuming (hoping) the white plug the phone one?

I cannot see the purple cable that i have seen in other posts thats for the Bluetooth antenna?? where is that?

In the sunroof switch area I have this:

with not much slack at all!

So.... am i prewired???? I'm worried about the missing black/purple cable?!
Oh and which ULF would be the best one to go for - I have an Iphone 4s but may soon get the 5 (or 5s when it comes out) 2003 Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Hi,

The black 50 pin plug is not showing in your pic. The picture from the sunroof area shows the microphone connector which is indeed slightly shorter than ideal.

The antenna lead was near the back corner, nearer the light cluster on mine.

Have a look on one of my previous posts about ulf install and there was a pic of the audi 50 pin plug which is the same part.

The lack of voice button on the wheel shouldn't affect the phone.

If you are using the latest phones, then you should probably get the latest ulf, but that won't be cheap. Others with an iphone will be able to confirm what works with what. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I've read your post, I've had a really good look but can't seem to find the back plug, someone on an older post said that if the white plug is open and free then I'm missing the loom/harness required

I found this:
http://www.roverupgrades.com/Rover_Bluetoo...tions.html
Which suggests if I only have the white plug I need an extra harness - is that correct ? I'm confused as it says the euro range rover should have the 54 pin plug and the US range rover has the white plug?

Does that mean I have no antenna lead as well? 2003 Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

It initially appears like your car may not be prewired, though to be fair, the microphone harness wiring seems to be the hardest bit to do if thats the case, and you have that already, so you may just be missing the extra loom from the boot area - along with the bluetooth antenna lead, as you suggest.

They are all BMW items found in 2005/6 perhaps 2007 (?) E39 5 series and X5's, so you may drop lucky at a breakers or on the bay of e.

Baris on here has previously offered the phone loom, and that will have the benefit that the rewire for the RR will already have been done - may be worth PM'ing him to see what the current cost is.

Just done a search and he mentions it in one of the previous posts, which I'd imagine you've already looked at ;

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic14122....=bluetooth

Not sure if you already have the other bits ;

Antenna here (no cable though)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-BLUETOOTH-AN...5af167fb0f

The cable just has a standard FAKRA connector on each end, so will not be specific to BMW.

I did a quick search on the bay and loads came up, but they had fakra on one end and iso connection on the other. They must be about. Just a matter of figuring out what the best search is in google......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Thinking aloud - Where does the other end of the microphone connection go then ?

Probably somewhere in the boot where the loom picks it up.......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic9811-15.html

I bought a 3rd gen ulf, works perfectly with my iPhone 4s and the wife's iPhone 5

The only thing that is abit slow is the phone book function. It's quicker to scroll through you phone and find the number. But receiving call etc works perfectly.

Oh and that link I posted shows how much you can pick them up for.

New Aries was £15 I think and the 3rd gen ULF was £45. But think I just got the right deal at the right time in the right place

There is one from an X5 here for £60.

No part number stated though, so you'll have to ask a few questions if you are bothered about what version it is.......

Sorry one more Question ! On your car was the 54 pin plug attached further down in some way to the white plug? Or was your white plug open/unused as mine is? 2003 Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

I can't see an unused white plug in the back of my car. Can't follow the cable properly as I've re-routed it and tie wrapped it out the way.

If you have downloaded RAVE, page 222 in the electrical circuit diagrams shows where they go..........

Are you thinking of trying to make your own loom up ?

C0947 is the 54 pin plug, so C0947-25 would be pin 25.

Remember this is before rewire........

C1644 is in the boot somewhere, and just goes to the eject box in the front of the car.

That could be the white plug............

Pin 1 in C1644 is red with a yellow stripe, which judging by your pic earlier in this thread, could indeed be the white plug in your hand...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

This is indeed the correct plug for the phone.

AFAIK, the mic pickup is under the centre console or somewhere in the boot, near the white plug.

I made up a harness for a forum member not so long back, so may have some details about making our own lead (or I could make you one).

This is what the harness looked like when done.

If you need the mic lead, then

CCFJ1 - thanks for offering to make a loom for me - i have had another look in the boot to see if i can locate a mic pick up to see if I need the extra Mic loom too- and to be honest i'm struggling to find what looks like a mic plug.

apart from the white X400 plug the only spare plug i have is this one (its part of the same section of loom and is a 5 pin plug)

so i then went and looked to see if i could find the other end of the loom from the mic plug that is in the overhead sunroof swicth area (i definitley have a plug there!) - i looked under the centre console where the large (non folding) cup holder sits and I have these two spare plugs... problem is each one only appears to have 1 pin each ???
Any ideas ? are these the mic pick ups??

No problem.

OK, good so far.

Hmmm, I'm by no means an expert on the RR mate, do the wires (at least 3 of them) match up with the mic wires in the roof??

Also does the car have a pair button located anywhere on the dash/console? (not the MFSW).

If this plug has 5 wires, then it is possible that this could be the pair and mic loom/pins. if it is then this would make sense and be possible to use.

Not sure, I would expect that the mic would have 3 or 2 wires at least.

The Mic lead must go somewhere and the logical place would be the boot so it would be near the phone module, its the only thing that makes any sort of sense.

Does the 5pin plug have any of the same colour wires as the mic plug (in the roof), can you do a continuity test if it does.
