Another Bluetooth issue

Hi Guy's

Sorry to bring you another Bluetooth issue on my first post

I'm drawing a blank now with my expertise so really need your help if you would be so kind, with info and things to look at and test to try to get my phone integrated into the car system.

To start from the beginning I have bought and fitted a new upgraded Bluetooth module from a trusted and well respected source www.bluetoothexchange.co.uk. I fitted the module and powered up the car without firing it up, and all worked well having put in the 2121 code. The contacts appeared on the RR screen and I made a call or two to test the system. I then started the car and reversed off the drive. When the reverse camera turned off as I pulled away up the road the car screen showed Phone not fitted and no amount of button pushing made it come back to life. This situation now seems to be the norm with occasionally the phone working as it should but more often than not it wont. I've tried the system with an Iphone and it appears to do the same thing, so I think the issue is in the car (07 TDV8 SE) rather than with the phones or the Bluetooth module.
I wondered if something else was taking control of the system and not swapping back to the phone maybe the reverse cam or the venture cam or something else??.
Any help or ideas would be very much appreciated.

Al

I had this after my BT upgrade from the same place. I have an 07 TDV8 VSE too, not that that should matter.

You'll be pleased to know I fixed mine and it has worked correctly ever since. +12 months

You'll like the next bit even better, its easy - All you need to do is a full reset on car as per the info in this link.

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/post67804.html#67804

Delete the pairing (usually called LANDROVER) off your phone in the Bluetooth menu and then go through the pairing again, inputting the 2121 code.

Thumbs Up
Had it, loved it!

Hi Chaps.

Firstly many thanks for your ideas on how to overcome my Bluetooth problem.

Stan.
I also read that post on the venture cam. So I have tried driving around without it in the RR and also checked the offroad screen in the dash to see if the venture cam became active at all which it didnt unfortunatly as that might have pointed the way to finding the fault.

Dave.
I tried the battery reset this morning and all looked great as I fired up the RR. The system asked for the code and for permission to sync the contacts etc, and I put the RR in and out of reverse a few times and all remained well. So I turned off the car and went inside for a celebratory cuppa tea. When I came back out and started the car to head for work the Censored system had reverted back to its old self and again said phone not fitted.

Andy.
When I spoke to Mr Wiggs about the problem he checked my returned unit and confirmed there was no sign of water damage, so I suspect the problem is not water based. I also took the opertunity to remove and replace the two connectors this morning to double check both were located correctly in their sockets.
All thats left to do now is pair and unpair a few times as you suggest and I will see if that sorts it.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Regards.

Al

Which Phone and OS is the phone running on please as that could be a clue?
I know BB's have numerous issues around BT in the RR Sad

If you get desperate i have a BT unit in my car and as the FF is going no-where at the minute you could borrow it for testing if its any use to you? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Hi Kingpleb.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 3, and the latest software so it said when I checked the phone.
Many thanks for the kind offer to borrow your BT module. I may well take you up on it if I have no luck soon.
Im gonna try Andy's suggestion later of pairing and unpairing a few times to see if that fixes it.

Cheers.

Al

Did you fix this? As mine had a similar problem which I fixed by changing a setting using the IID tool.

Trial & error but I think this is what I did using the IID CCF edit feature. ACM-Audio System - Bluetooth - Phone System, changed type from Bluetooth to Bluetooth & Handset. Then saved to car and when it had rest its self the bluetooth seems to connect to phone without problems

I have this all the time, IPhone 4S, all I do is select the Off Road Screen and press the on screen Venture Cam Icon. Works every time except if I'm a little impatient and the screen will flash "phone disconnected" as it had already made the connection. If that happens I just press it again.
This is what Wiggs advised and it works for me. Geoff

Hi Geoff.

Thanks for the info. Ive had a few emails back and forth with Mr Wiggs as he tried to talk me through various ideas on fixes. We did look at the possibility that the venture cam might be causing the problem so I removed it for a few days and left it at home but unfortunatly it didnt help with the problem.
Its back it the car now so I will try what you suggested again.
Thanks guys for all you assistance with this, please keep any thoughts or ideas coming.

Al
