Hi Gaz, could I possibly ask for a value on a car I'm looking at tomorrow please??

Its a 57 plate TDV8 Vogue with 99000 miles (1st registered Dec 2007)

1 owner from new with full LR Service history. Very tidy with zero marks on bodywork or interior.

Dealer is looking for £17250 for it

Is that a fair price???

Cheers

Thanks Gaz for providing the figures.

It is a very good price and I'm a little worried that it maybe too good to be true!!

I've seen photos today and as I mentioned earlier the car is very clean (both internally and externally). The dealer tells me its just been serviced with 4 new tyres also. He also has the HPi check he can show me to prove there are now issues with the car.

I plan to view and drive it tomorrow but should I be looking for anything in particular?? Are there any common problems that I should be aware of that could help spot a dodgy vehicle??

Thanks again for your help.

Just make sure EVERYTHING works and be careful about inspecting the TPMS valves on the wheels.

Look out for rear wheelarch corrosion on the inner lip where the rear door opens. The '07 S/C I'm buying has this and I know of another with the same as well. Si. <This is my name.

It does seem cheap you have to wonder what he paid for it and why?

However there are genuine bargains out there so thorough check and make sure its a good warranty with sufficient single claim limit to cover engine or gearbox....

I trust you have HPI'd to check for CAT D?

Gaz

Thanks Gents.

I will go over it with a fine tooth comb tonight and pay particular attention to the points Bellini mentions.

Gaz - I haven't done an independent Hpi check yet but maybe I should. The dealer mentioned he had carried one out when he bought the car and will show it to me tonight...am I being a tad naive in simply accepting this as proof the car hasn't been involved in an accident etc? Are they known to forge HPi documents??

Again thanks for all your advice and apologies for the ongoing questions.

Cheers
