Intermittent Gear Selection Issue

2006 FF S/C, done around 72k. Recently started intermittently dropping out of 'D' (Drive). Flashing 'D' on the display and sometimes it disappears completely! Absolutely no issues with it in manual or 'S' (Sport) mode.

Anyone experienced this and managed to resolve it?

Thanks,

Andy

Grease up the gear selector linkage..search on here, pretty common fault especially after driving on salt laden winter roads '08 Audi S6 Avant 5.2 V10 with Milltek non-resonated. Vrrrrrrmmmmmph

No worries, glad to be of help. Bet the gear selector feels like new too!

Had the same way issue myself and the forum provided the solution as it did on many other occasions. 5* to the other fellows on here for providing useful and insightful info when needed. Best owners forum on the web by far... '08 Audi S6 Avant 5.2 V10 with Milltek non-resonated. Vrrrrrrmmmmmph

Yes it does feel like new and I agree, best forum by far. Full Fats all have their little idiosyncrasies and so it's good to know we are not alone. Despite that, I wouldn't drive anything else!
