Doesn't bear thinking about, splash all that money on a car and then find out it's been to the moon and back.....

I think the whislteblower may have won it last week then pulled out. I'd noticed that it had previously ended for about £28k but then was relisted. Perhaps this was the reason (funny he doesn't mention that).

There may be a clue in the fact that the original ad states "Previous owners - 0" ?? |

Never ever EVER rely on mileages, even HPi checks cover themselves by stating mileage data is entered by 3rd parties therefore mistakes can(and often do occur).

Prison wouldn't happen in a million years. The real problem is that there are no actual consequences when dealers are caught and less than that for private sellers. What it should be is fraud, then maybe people would think twice.....

Well the knives are out! I'm still keeping an eye on this listing to see how it ends. The seller has posted an update below about the mileage. Claims it's a bitter buyer trying to stir things up. Who knows

I totally believe the seller.A bitter "non buyer" trying to ruin his sale?? If you have nothing nice to say,say nothing at all. |

I must say, when I bought my other car years ago, I did the hpi check, but also then contacted the main Dealer where it had been serviced to make sure the mileage and dates on the service sheets presented to me by the seller tied in with the dealers records. As I was not asking them to give me new information but just to confirm the mileage/dates, they happily obliged. HPI is good, but if they've accidentally been given the wrong information, then that's what you would get from them in good faith. Steve
