Can't you get one of these gizmos that makes the final hitch a lot easier without risk of damage ?? Or can't you put a heavy steel catcher directly on the tow hitch and not have to use a bumper plate ?

Well when I say bumper protector, I mean a plate that bolts on to the tow bar thats what I have fitted, but it is quite short. Pics to follow |

Just got a pic of it back on the rangie, as you can see the guard is a bit short, one good thing is it covers the scratches on the bottom plastic that cant be repaired as it is unpainted. I will just have to make sure i am more careful than the last owner.

Just use a stick or something like that, that gives you the correct height for hitching up so you know it is never above the plate. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
