Decided to have a look. After some digging found that it's a coin cell, CR2450S, soldered to the board as you would expect.

Thanks Taskam, good write-up. I wish I got that lot that was on ebay the other day, just for next time when my tires need changing (should be a while though). MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

is there a way of testing to see how much life is in the battery?

The potting compound is reasonably soft, so you could probe down onto the two pads that the battery is soldered to and measure the voltage that way.

Agreed, provided that they self program, it makes sense to replace. The valve stems get corroded after a few years anyway. 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE Java Black |
