Anyone tried the General Grabber AT2? I'm currently running 255/55/18 Wranglers and thinking of going for 255/60/18 AT2s if they're any good. I'm interested in wear and road noise mainly. Would the marginally higher sidewalls cause any issues?

I'm mostly a road and motorway driver but I do want decent off-road performance when the (rare) need arises.

I had a set of AT2's on the Freelander - not a bad tyre for an AT. Just make sure the speed rating is correct for your vehicle - cos if it isn't wave goodbye to your insurance  Land Rover Addict

if you are running 255/55/18 they are the wrong size anyway, this is the size for RRS,

FFRR is either :-

255/60/18,
255/55/19
255/50/20

I've had AT2's on my P38 and they are noiser and offer less grip on the road than a "road" biased tyre.
I've also had BFG AT's and they last significantly longer but have similar noise characteristics. Very good as a compromise tyre though.

Currently got MTR's on the spare rims for the L322, they were superb in the snow and what I'll stick with.

Really, if you only go offroad very occasionally and know when it would be, I'd just get a second set of rims and put MTR's on them, then you can have the best of both worlds.

Agreed Sadly mine are for sale because with 510 horses under the bonnet they can no longer be fitted thanks to insurance  Land Rover Addict

Thanks for the info. Had them fitted this afternoon. So far, the increase in road noise is negligible (didn't get above 60) and the ride is noticeably more comfortable, which you'd expect with taller sidewalls. So far so good, except for being £500 lighter (Bracknell Tyre & Battery if anyone's interested).
