EAS: Reservoir Pressure Static When Filling ?

Member FEM888 (Dave) came over this evening so we could put his car on the All Comms to see what was going on with his EAS.

It's a very nice black '03 HSE with only 47K on the clock, but had the good old "AIR SUSP INACTIVE" on the message centre and was stuck at standard height (although it would drop to Motorway height at speed and eventually return to Standard Height)

Had a quick real world measure with the tape, and confirmed car was at Standard height, give or take a few mm here and there.

AllComms delivered the following and only fault on the EAS:

Reservoir Pressure Static When Filling

We cleared the fault and could hear the Compressor kick in. Went to Off Road height but this took @ 90 seconds. Ran the test again and the fault was back. Dropped back to standard height, ran the test again and the fault had returned. Left car with fault cleared.

Points me to either:

Compressor knackered

or

Leaky reservoir, probably at the valve

Thoughts welcome.... Thumbs Up .

Hallo Joe90, first change the pressure-sensor, and also refit your compressor, cheap only the piston ring, enough for 6 month, or complete refit for long life..., best regards, Uli L405 SDV8 2017 + Lancia Flavia Coupe 1964 + RRS L494 3.0 SDV6 + C220CDI Convertible 2021

I gues its the compressor - mine went arround that milage as well, at that time - arround 6 years ago they changed the whole compressor, now i would just do the ring

static means there is no fluctuations noticable, hence the compressor is not able to put air in the system

go for the replacement ring

Remembering it is not my car that has the problem, but if it were me I would want to find a kind soul who was prepared to swap out compressors first. .

Can't you try your compressor on his car - and vice-versa?

Tims range is about 40 foot up in the air at the moment so that would be difficult... Laughing ... - .- -.

Joe get he compressor out and strip it down. There a how to in the wiki. Just a light sand of the piston ring to rough it up and some vacuums grease will have it running much better and give you an idea if the compressor is Censored or if its the pressure switch. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Joe if its not a big job is there not a working compressor he could swap with and then see if the fault clears?

This would be easy and cheap as its only time if you have one thats working at the minute and will then show what the real fault is Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
