Me vs Greenpeace...

I was just sorting my HDD and came across an episode from the BBC which starred my old 4.4! Anyone interested? If so I'll upload it somewhere Smile Land Rover Addict

Not wanting to offend anyone, but is it me or all these activists, not just from greenpeace, are some cheap-ass (more likely broke) and if they cannot afford something, they usually go against it? 2000 BMW M5, Avus Blue/LeMans Leather Interior

Man, she was so irritating! I love the way she suggested you have a Range Rover and a smaller runaround car... for the school run. A Greenpeace activist advocating two cars? It's funny how in that scenario she can grasp the fact that a driver will only ever drive one car at a time, but if there are two Land Rovers, the driver is Satan incarnate.

I especially liked her colleague who was asking people on the street to 'sort of err' tax cars off the road.

Nobody on the environmental 'side' ever remembers that cars like this are cherished, so will be properly maintained and will remain on the road longer than most of the recommended shoeboxes. I'd bet it takes more out of the environment putting that nasty plastic rubbish together than a FFRR will ever cause. Not to mention that who knows what the shoebox will be emitting once it is past its best and is being abused as boy racer's first car?

I think targetting any one manufacturer alone is grossly unfair. At the very least, if nothing else is taken into account, Land Rover builds large off-road cars that are actually able to go off road. If the complaint is against manufacturers of gas guzzling school run cars, target manufacturers of cars that don't have off-roading as a pillar of their ethos. LR made off-road vehicles long before it became fashionable to use them on the school run.

I wish she had been asked what she thought of the car before she got out. Researching my first Range Rover purchase
