Have had a quick search on here but can't see anything that resembles my problem ish.

Drove car home the other night and it was kicking out loads of blue smoke under hard acceleration. As the car was going in for service I mentioned it to the dealer and was told that some pipework relating to the turbo might need changing/modifying.

Anyhoo, 2nd year service done today and was told that the firmwre for the body control module had been updated in relation to this problem. Giving it hard acceleration tonight there is no sign of any smoke. Is it possible that a firmware update could fix this problem

Is this a fob-off excuse from the dealer or could there be an underlying problem manifesting itself

"Normally" blue smoke is engine oil being drawn into the combustion process, say valve guides leaking, piston rings leaking or any other form of engine oil getting into the cylinders.

Now turbo issues could cause oil to go into the combustion process, so the pipework issues may be involved.

Firmware upgrade on the ECU very very maybe could have an effect but the BCU, I can't see how as it has nothing to do with the engine/gearbox control whatsoever, as far as I know. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
