No problems with the latest software and my iPhone 5. Used for approximately 4 hours of telephone calls, checking emails/Facebook/LinkedIn. Booked some flights on it and checked this forum throughout the day. (Also did a short stint on angry birds as well ) and I still have 36% battery remaining. Oh and listened to some music on it whilst reviewing some particularly boring Gannt charts for a couple of hours as well.

During the calls/listening to music I have it running through my Bose headphones so the screen is powered off. I find that battery life is related to the screen useage.

Solution is to get a Samsung S3 . Lasts ages just like me in my teens only down side is double postings  Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I have the 4s and the latest firmware version 6.1.2 and all seems fine with me as well. Have you guys done a full reboot..?

Hold down the home button and then the top power button. Keep them held and the screen will either go blank or show the shut down bar at the top. Keep the buttons held down until all this disappears and you will see an apple logo appear. Then you can let go of the buttons. That does sometime sort a lot of things out. Ash

I have the S3 as well and also downloaded some apps that manage various profiles. For example at night there is a timed profile that switches off a lot, goes to black background etc. only soft ringtone, no messages tones/lights etc. This saves a bit of battery power as well (turns off BT and Wireless if you want, I only turn off BT).

I also found an app that keeps wireless off until it is in a "known" location (office, home and other places that you want wireless to be on). When you get to a place where you want to use wireless (airport lounge for example) you can turn it on yourself. Saves quite a bit of battery.

Screen brightness seems to have the biggest effect on S3 battery life though.

I also carry a solar/USB chargeable battery pack (2400 mAh) with me, that I can use on extended trips. Although I hardly need it with my USB car charger and airline seats that have USB chargers as well as laptop USB charging

It is still ridiculous though that a software update does that. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Mi ip5 battery life is fine, but then I usually turn off all location services (especially the system ones), bluetooth and wifi unless I am using them.... 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

My i5 has location services on all the time (I never know when they'll be needed so just keep them running and it proves far more handy for me such as when setting reminders for an alert at a particular location, for example) and also wi-fi. I never really have a problem.

I found that when I started with iPhones (the 4, then 4S and now the 5) that having charger points everywhere (home, cars, office) helps a lot and I'm rarely stuck for lack of charge.

Apps are always shut down after use and the screen is switched off as well.

I never use bluetooth, though. No real need and I have found that when it is used, it's a massive battery drain all by itself. Maybe I need a newer FFRR... Si. <This is my name.
