Just recently updated the software on my ip4s and now the battery life is woeful what used to be a day or a day and a half is now lasting just over half a day …..

I think I've got the same issue, but hadn't connected the dots to the SW update.

I unplugged my 4GS from the charger this morning by my bed and before I got up I checked my emails and the cricket score (wish I hadn't bothered!) and then went to plug it back in whilst I had a shower.

89% battery left. 11% in about 4 or 5 minutes!! Bloody useless!  Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

I've heard a few complaining about this

Does the update turn on all the "battery hungry" features like location services etc?

You can turn those off yourself tho in settings …

One of the reasons I'm holding off is that the same thing happened when the 4 came out, and folk with "old" 3's upgraded and they had no end of problems.

Just about to activate my ip5 just now …..

i have mine plugged in as much as possible now. it was about 92% at 4.40 and is now 51% with just a few emails checked and a 10min call and some text.

Try killing all the apps that are still open in the background and see if it helps mick. It literally allows EVERY app to stay open in the background.

Dounle tap the home button and the hold down on an app and they will jiggle with their crosses on them. And just kill them all off

I had pages of them open and its helped mine by doing it when i dont really need to do anything on the phone and updates still come thru  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I always shut the apps down

Next thing is turn off location services and vibrate and screen brightness. Mine is quite low as its much better in any light conditions but still have it set to auto adjust but it keeps it dimmer than the average one. Good for privacy as well  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Mines ok.
lasts about 6 hours. Thats normal usage calls and mails

All apple products are on battery life.

i used my Ipad 3 yesterday for 2hour and the battery went from 99% - 25% just playing cards in the airport.
