Check your alternator first. My battery was fine, alternator was the issue which is quite common. |

Would a larger battery put undue strain on the alternator, causing early alternator failure?? |

no, the alternator output is regulated and the use stays the same. A bigger battery does not change that, it just allows more give when you use it for longer i.e. long FBH cycles, using the entertainment longer etc. The alternator is always running when the engine is and only the output varies depending on the need of the battery.
