Euro car parts using code battery15 for 15% discount;)
I bought the biggest S5 020 bosch on there list only to find it didn't fit the hole so be warned!
I know some have made them fit but I ended up exchanging for the next one down!!

Perfect!!

Check your alternator first. My battery was fine, alternator was the issue which is quite common.

Will do green flag coming in the morning car still at wife's work.
Called landrover assistance they say dealer has not informed them even though when car purchased in June 2012 full year warranty and landrover assistance for one year.
Guess who's going get it in the morning? Gone

Would a larger battery put undue strain on the alternator, causing early alternator failure??

no, the alternator output is regulated and the use stays the same. A bigger battery does not change that, it just allows more give when you use it for longer i.e. long FBH cycles, using the entertainment longer etc. The alternator is always running when the engine is and only the output varies depending on the need of the battery. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Local green flag came out and started first thing this morning checked the battery was charging ok.
Turns out swmbo might have left the lights or interior lights on for more than 12 hrs yesterday.
Ordered a Bosch s5 020 from euro car parts using the mb club 25 got it for £116 just to be on the safe side every other RR I have owned has had the battery replaced around 31/2 years old.

Got on to the sales manager today and it turns out they never registered the warranty with land rover in June that's why we have no breakdown cover. He is going to do this one year starting from tomorrow happy days. Gone
