DIY ski hatch ?

Don't laugh ! Rolling with laughter

My facelift MY2006 doesn't have a ski hatch in the middle rear seat - just a solid fibreglass cover.

I was therefore pondering whether I could hacksaw a hole through the rear fibreglass (solid) cover behind the velcro'd leather cover on the middle rear seat and then:

- fit a 2" wide "tunnel" as per the "have a ski hatch" models
- fit a better rear carpeted fitting

Has anyone contemplated (or even done) this ??

Could you not just buy the hatch & bag?

Jigsawing the hole out would seem a very easy thing to do.

The OEM ski hatch has a long ski bag attached too, one of those that is impossible to fold back up! Discovery 4 HSE
