Ignoring the fact that the L405 is clearly more modern (that's really fashion with a bit of technology thrown in, not design), I'm not sure how anyone could think it is a better design.

land rover lost the plot this time IMO: It isn't hard to design a handsome, beefy range rover, all you need is some set squares, and remember to add some castellated bonnet edges, a floating roof and a high seating position.

my 5 cent are - that the L405 looks a bit like a Touareg (outer look) but perhaps it will grow on me too - the L322 looks more massive and as you know we germans love tanks All my spelling errorz are belong to me!

Fuel economy is a big issue - hence the popularity of the pre-TDV8 diesels, despite them being awful - and with the focus on CO2 test figures it's only going to become more of one.

trommel, yeah but the L322 still met pedestrian guidelines for a while yet... remember these guys can still make the defender! Point taken about economy, but the L405 has been a huge dissappointment from this perspective: despite the radical overhaul no Range Rover tops 40mpg, which should be the benchmark for a big diesel car in 2013. And anyway, the significant cost of purchase means that economy isn't as important as it once was: its only the used market that really cares I sps |
