Referring to the walnut strip that comes on Vogue I believe one each side of transmission tunnel. These are standard grey on HSE and some members have even painted these gloss black. Not sure if the strips mentioned are standard hence my question.  Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I may be wrong with this but i'm sure they are all options when ordering the car. The standard for HSE would be just sprayed plastic.
The black painted you mention is called piano black and is an option too.

Vogue/Vogue SE drivers got a choice of Cherry/Burr Walnut or Piano Wood trim. AB could pay for even more exotic woods but rarely did.

HSE & below got nowt.

BUT even on a Vogue the strips either side of the transmission tunnel are grey regardless of options chosen - like mine Only the AB has these strips to match the other wood (ish) trim on the dash.

Current dealer price for a 2008 is about 35 - 39 k.

New pricelist here for L405 Ireland looks like we have a below Vogue "CE " option too

Think the option was introduced on the 2006 > as I have never seen it on earlier models. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE
