Little Accident with wooden post

When coming out of parking space earlier I caught front passenger bumper on a post. Bumper is scratched, parking sensor has fell through into bumper leaving a hole and the plastic at bottom of bumper is hanging off, brilliant!

Question is about parking sensors, they now don't work and parking sensor light in car is just flashing, does one broken sensor make whole system fail? Any idea what cost of a sensor is?

Thanks.

Yes one faulty sensor can cause the whole system not to work. You may find once you have fixed up the bumper and refitted the sensor the system will work again.

I think it cost me about £45 for the last one I bought (not sure if that included VAT), drop Dan at Duckworths a message, he can supply them. They come primed but not painted, but they are easy to paint 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Hope you've not Censored the sensor backing plate which is moulded into the bumper, as that's a constant pain in the ass.

I hit a deer one night and my middle one fell in, in the end I had to remove the front bumper and use a fibreglass kit to get the mount plate to stay put behind the bumper face. Discovery 4 HSE

Just gone back to where it happened and parking sensor was on the floor!

Need new holder though as that's smashed.

The lower bumper plastic, is that one piece for whole length of car?

Probably best to just buy another bumper in black off eBay, it will probably come with sensors and be cheaper than repairing that or a perfect excuse for a facelift conversion Smile

That could be repaired. You will also likely need the plastic inner mounting for the bumper as well Sad

The black part is available on its own but may need to order the other side or get some back to black type stuff to even them out though.

Doesn't look too bad, bit of flatting and new mount for the sensor and match up and spray. Do-able in 2 days i say maybe £200 cash job.. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Been quoted £35+VAT for plastic bumper. Awaiting reply on if that's whole length or just one side?

Emailed Dan about price for PDC holder.

Then it's price for bodyshop to fit all and sort bumper.

Not sure if to just get insurance to sort- £300 excess.

Better to do it off your own back as excess will then mean increased premiums and time in some crud euro/eastern box on wheels... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I'd still get a clean black bumper off eBay, definitely less than £200 the you could even sell your old sensors to re-coup some cost, don't have to worry about paintwork bbeing done and you can swap the bumper yourself in about an hour

Just noticed where parking sensor goes should look like this

Mine looks like this

There is just a hole and no clips round it to hold parking sensor case in bumper.

What am I missing?
