2004 Range Rover HSE Td6 Zambezi Silver
MY NEW TD6

Hi everyone i bought myself a 2004 td6 and its great. so i am looking forward to learning about it. first question.
i have been out to admire it in the dark, and it appears that the little red indicator by the gear stick(auto box) p for park is illuminated and so is the digits around the transfer box switches on the console, and a slight hum from a
fan can be heard, is this normal, i had been locking and unlocking the car with the remote... is there a large time delay switch that turns it all off eventually. many thanks.

Welcome glynh, the red light should go out after around 20 minutes after everything is switched off and the ECUs go 'to sleep' If however you open a door it will run for another 20 minutes or so

Hi glynh,

Welcome Thumbs Up

The Light on the selector is an indicator that the Computers have not yet shut down. It usually takes 15-20 mins for them to shut down (no idea why it takes sooo long, i recon landrover are in cahoots with the battery manufactures)

one word of advice, if you plan to work on it yourself you will need a diagnostics unit, I highly recommend the IID Tool. (no affiliation, just own one)

I hope you have manny trouble free miles

oops, too slow at typing Embarassed
