Wanna bet ? how can you say that when a generically chipped TDV8 puts out 800nm of torque compared to a SC at 460, a custom map will prob closer to 820-30 nm of torque and 60 hp increase. Its the torque that makes it accelerate the HP is purely what gives it top end ![]() ![]() |

There is nohing to stop you chipping a petrol and making it even faster as well.

You will never get the same gains out of remapping a petrol as you will a diesel, but who cares they are both phoneomonal cars and plenty fast enough for large 4x4. Now I'm off as iv got a |

I dont like oil burners my self but the chip for an SC does not improve it that much, takes it to 655nm and 535hp, revs do not matter as the gearing will be different like they say Torque wins races HP is for bragging, bit like golf, drivings for show puttings for dough Ill have money on a chipped TDV8 over a 1/4 mile One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching! ![]() |

A chipped 335d will only beat an M3 for in gear acceleration. Other than that it's going to get spanked by the M3, a chip doesn't affect cornering or braking ability.

Performance figures aside, the deciding factor will probably be driver ability. Si. <This is my name.

If you want to make a supercharged car faster the obvious answer is a smaller pulley along with a remap, seems a waste of time otherwise.

I just don't get wanting to go that fast in a FFRR... For me it's all about getting there in comfort and indeed style! |

I tend to agree. I don't drive my FF terribly fast, but I like to know the performance is there should a rare occasion demand it.

I know and a generic chip adds 30nm hence 655 ![]() ![]() ![]() |
