i'm surprised at the 5.0 figures which are better than the s/c 4.2 ,official that is but as you say real life figures might come in different...
i bet that 5.0 is a nice quite lazy engine though... ... - .- -.

The official figures are done according to strict criteria, I bet if I would drive a 5.0 the fuel consumption will be similar or higher than in my current 4.2 and that just because I will be flooring it even more given the chance in Lagos traffic Wink MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I have had three 5.0SC. They averaged around 18-19mpg overall, 20-21 on a run, 12 around town. It is a fantastic engine, way better than the old 4.2SC. They also hold their value way better than most cars as long as you buy them at the right price. 2015 RR SDV8 Vogue SE

Friend who lives in Houston has one he gets 13 mpg. However it costs him Hal what it costs to fill my 3.6. That alo going up soon given the 4p a litre increase. Evil or Very Mad

13 miles per usgal or ukgal? 13 per US isn't too shabby (about 20% smaller volume than UK gallon) so works out to 15.5 mpg in the UK.

That said, Houston traffic outside of rush hours flows better than UK so probably higher average speed and less stop start too. '08 Audi S6 Avant 5.2 V10 with Milltek non-resonated. Vrrrrrrmmmmmph

I'm sure the figure I gave you is post conversion. He does drive it like he's nicked it but at those prices why not.
The traffic is similar to rush hour out of Manchester however it's sometimes 8 lanes wide one way and you can undertake. Can be very daunting!
