United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Bonatti Grey
Newbie

Hello Gentlemen,
I thought I would join and introduce myself as I am the proud owner of a 2003 RR 4.4 Vogue in Bonatti Grey for the last 6 months, it is currently coming up to FSH - 73000 miles, I am the third owner and it is an unmolested, honest non adapted/added model.
I have been very grateful for the knowledge and tips that appear here and on other forums as I have been slowly working through a few issues, (new Alternator, new battery, new rear tyres and trying to source new wiper arm drivers side.). I have had many of the dreaded warning messages, but they all were caused by the battery not holding enough charge!
I really love my Rangie, I like the sound of it, the comfort and the smoothness, I only average between 5-7k a year, so fuel costs are not really a bother to me, why have anything else???

Looking forward to enjoying and learning more here Smile

Regards

Andy

United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Hello all,

Hopefully in the not too distant future I'll be the owner of a TDV8 (once I find one in budget). It will be a daily drive and tow vehicle for my hillclimb/sprint car.

Grown up with RRs (apparently I was potty trained in the back of one - old 2 door classic - going though Germany back in the very early 80s), but my knowledge is only really of the RR Classic (Dad still has his 1990 Vogue SE - its a bit like triggers broom now).

Looking forward to the luxury of one of these, my current mk4 golf daily hack has been cheap and great, but I feel a bit of decadence is now in order.

Regards,

Keith

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black

Hi All

So pleased to have joined the FullFatRR club, and to find such a friendly forum. I have been on Pistonheads for several years and do enjoy the banter, advice, classifieds and some good hearted P taking Rolling with laughter

I was fully intending to buy a 3.6 tdv8, but the more I looked I just couldn't find one for much under £25k

A petrol head mate pointed out that I only do 6k miles a year, and my budget would buy a petrol.......
Picked up a 2006 Vogue 4.2 supercharged last Saturday Very Happy

Read the threads on here, and it just reinforced the argument to buy it !

Previous cars include:
Porsche Cayenne S (4.5l)....17mpg.... Big Cry
Volvo xc90 t6 (2.9l twinturbo petrol).....18mpg Big Cry

So hoping that I am not going to see too much additional pain at the pumps

Wow , only had a few runs locally, but in love. Java black, totally stock, but so many toys,

So look forward to reading your advice on tyres, detailing, indy's local to me in East London/Essex etc

Cheers

Guy

Cheers Stan!

I Put a few pics on, will upload better ones once I have cleaned it , and got the DSLR out for decent shots

Got a valet bloke coming on Monday to quote for detailing it. Saw another member on here get the swirls out of his java black.... Thinking I might end up spending as much cleaning it as petrol Rolling with laughter

Hi guys,

Thought I better join and say hi, since I've been hiding in the wings for a few months now whilst I fought the urge to buy a RR. Dipped my toe in last week with a 2004 Vogue diesel and I must say I'm loving it. Mine has the touch screen sat nav but not the facelift front.

Already smiling as I fixed my sunroof which was not closing fully earlier today after diving onto the forum to avoid what I was convinced would be a trip back to the dealer so thanks already Very Happy

Looking forward to hopefully being of help too.

Cheers,
Steve

Germany 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Java Black

Hi all,

it's all my wife's fault. We were driving in a rented Ford SUV in Miami at Christmas and I mentioned the fact that it was about time we put our 1992 Saab 900 convertible into semi-retirement. She's been our only car for the last 11 years, done 170K miles and needs a break. Here in Germany you can get seasonal registration plates and take the car off the road in the winter. My lovely Frau thought this was her chance to get a Mercedes E Class Estate, a fine car but not my cup of Kaffee. I mentioned the fact that I like to sit up high, like in the SUV we were driving - she suggested I buy a ladder. She then asked if we could run a new motor as a company car for our business (the rules are quite strict here) and when I said yes she said "then get one one those" and pointed to a RR driving next to us. It would have been rude and churlish not to take her at her word and upon returning home at the beginning of January I started looking ( and reading this excellent forum ). A diesel seems like a no brainer as it costs about 10 Cents a liter less than petrol and my Frau and son got to pick the colour (black with sand interior).

So, to cut a short story long - I'll be picking up my 2008 TDV8 Vogue on Friday after it has had a full inspection and gets a new MOT. It's in great nick and got 75000KM (47000 Miles) on the clock. The dealer offered 12 months Land Rover guarantee incl. mobility but I convinced me to chuck a second year in for the same price (especially after reading here what it can cost if something major goes TU).

Thanks to all who post here for providing such a wealth of information for prospective buyers. I'll let you know how we get on.

Stuart
