For info. this is what ZF, the manufacturer of your 6HP26 transmission, have to say on the subject.

From the official ZF repair manual for the 6HP26:

dealer can do it, though it will be pricey aroung £500 notes if memory serves when i asked for a quote. As said it is now part of the LR service schedule for the TDV8 at 10 years. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I had mine Megaflushed, it gets a much higher percentage of the old ATF out and replaces with lovely crimson new fluid.

Cost about £200 from memory. Land Rover dealers do not offer this.

The fluid alone is normally £150 we are hoping to get a bulk buy of fluid by getting a few of us together, labour charge is £100 + fluid, pretty cheap I reckon seeing the machine is around 4k One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Mine was hanging between 1st and 2nd.
Local LR Independent Specialist changed Oil and Filter for €250.
Seems to have cured the problem. Thumbs Up

My experience has been that a full flush made absolutely no difference. Working fine - full flush after 45,000 miles, 15000 miles later new box.
